In the late 1930s this one-of-a-kind Helicron was placed in a barn and forgotten. Rediscovered in 2000, rebuilt, and reintroduced to the world with its original Rosengart chassis, suspension, and brakes. Unfortunately the original motor has been lost to time but it has since been fitted with a 1980s Citroen GS 4-cylinder motor... Although the manufacturer is unknown, it's believed that this car was built in France 1932

Design-wise, the peugeot cars 207 CC offers more elegant, sportier and sleeker lines than the 206 CC it replaces. The rakish windscreen does a wonderful job of highlighting the athleticism of the car. The rear, which I personally think has shades of the Mitsubishi Colt CZC, is neater and positively more attractive than its predecessor.

From whichever angle you look at it, the peugeot 207 CC now boasts a smarter and more confident look, more so with the top down. All it takes is just 25 seconds to convert from coupe to cabriolet, and vice versa. Without a one-touch function, all that you can do throughout these 25 seconds is to watch in awe as the roof folds majestically into the boot. Operating the roof is totally automatic, meaning that there is no catch to release or lock.

With the roof down, wind buffeting, or rather the lack of it, is never an issue. You can still hold a decent conversation at expressway speeds in the 207 CC.

The downside with many convertibles is that the absence of a solid roof often translates to rigidity problems. Without solid pillars to provide additional support to the overall frame, lesser convertibles usually fall prey to body flex. Peugeot engineers, however, have done a commendable job in strengthening the chassis, thus ensuring that the car remains largely flex-free even over bumpy roads and bends. The downside, however, is that 200 kilos have been added to the overall weight of the car.

Steering is both responsive and decently sharp, although it does get a bit vague above expressway speeds. Compared to the previous model, steering feedback has also improved, giving more information to the driver on the road surface conditions. On the inside, quality and design, have been given a boost with soft-feel facia. There’s no doubt that the 207 CC has become a classier car overall. Space-wise, there is abundance of it for those in front. It’s a different story altogether for the rear seats as even midgets would complain of cramped conditions.

Where luggage is concerned, golfers heading to the range or course should dispense with their full-size golf bags and full set of clubs. With the roof up, you get 449 litres of space. Driving topless, the cargo area dwindles to 187 litres. A practical solution is to dump the bags on the rear seat.

As much as I adore the 207 CC, the car is not without its bugbears, principally the four-speed Tiptronic gearbox. I had expected a consistent ‘hot-knife-through-butter’ smoothness in the gear changes but was greeted with the occasional jerkiness. Drive the car in the manual mode and you’ll have to contend with gear shifts that are anything but swift.

On the move, the 207 CC offers a generally pliant and comfortable ride. At the heart of the coupe cabriolet is a four-cylinder 1.6-litre engine with variable valve timing. Co-developed with BMW, the powerplant generates a maximum of 120 horses at 6,000 rpm and takes 12.6 seconds to sprint from zero to hundred. Torque is a surprising 240 Nm, offering abundant pulling power for swift overtaking. And when speed needs to be shed, the brakes bite exceptionally well.

The 207 CC, which boasts of 5-star Euro NCAP rating, abounds with safety features. These include Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Anti-lock Brakes (ABS), with Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD), and Emergency Brake Assist (EBA). On top of these, the four airbags and chrome-plated rollover bars complete with the safety net. J

Peugeot dipped into diesel-electric waters with its Prologue crossover, which will go into production next year. Peugeot and Citroen, siblings under PSA Group, will share a hybrid system called Hymotion4, which involves an efficient diesel engine powering the front wheels and an electric motor/lithium battery driving the rear wheels. The car's hybrid drivetrain uses a 70 kilowatt electric motor up front and a 1.6-liter gas engine in the rear, with a combined total of 313 horsepower. The car can be driven electric-only, gas-only, or with gas and electric power. Peugeot claims 52 mpg and only 109 grams of CO2 per kilometer.

I was sent this duct tape art van the other day from my friend mark, an engineer with a duct tape talent and here is what he said;

I am an art car artist and went to the westfest and Seattle Artcar Blowout several times. The duck tape van was created because of inspiring friends in Eugene, Oregon. These early forrays into art have opened new doors for me and enriched my life. As an engineer, duck tape was always there but never appreciated. Discovering the wacky, wonderful world of art cars released my spirit and let me fly.

After my previous change to the standard Head Unit 1 din ViDiQ product series 828DVQ (http://nanank-peugeotcars.blogspot.com/), I found ViDiQ a murmer products with 4-inch LCD. Series ViDiQ 438DVQ is functioning as a single disc for MP3, VCD, DVD, Radio, SD / MMC Card, USB port, radio-equipped display 4 "(small enough for a standard 2 din).

But with a nice view features and an affordable price (U.S. $ 2.5 million), finally I was tempted for change (again) head unit GL. Certainly the size of the LCD is small enough but the picture clearly comfortable enough to enjoy.

Please if there is another GL users willing to try, pretty good and cheap. Do not compare with produk2 Japan, but so far with my ViDiQ quite satisfied with its performance. There is no additional power-amp, the speakers I just add the standard tweeter in front. Hopefully useful. greetings, Surahyo

I've always thought it would be great to cover a car in pink flamingos so this is the next best thing for me, blog entry filled with flamingo cars and bikes. Its also funny to me how different each art car is from each other, ranging from mounted flamingos to painted flamingos. I like this first one, with a few flamingos mounted high up on poles on a jet black car, very striking(sorry no more drive through for you). Today I found 40 Art Cars on Poles and other miscellaneous objects, an exhaustive list but I am sure I missed a few. Most of the photos came from flickr, so forgive me for not putting a credit on them all, there way way too many. On of the most famous art car sculptures is called "Spindle" By Dustin Shuler formerly located at Cermak Plaza Berwyn Illinois IL April 2008. This beauty made an appearance in the 1992 film "Wayne's World," with an opening night I will never forget. It consisted of a 50 foot spike with eight cars impaled on it and was taken down on May 2, 2008 to make way for a Walgreens store... complete story here

I am not sure what this is but it has a Mad Max feel to it, on the extremely unsafe side of the spectrum. So there is no side, or rear impact protection but their is front end roll bar with a massive spare tire. Trunk space is minimal but the spare tire doubles up as a passenger seat with a fantastic view. I would say unsafe at any and all speeds with a rating of -10 but totally fun to drive around burning man, a rating of +10.

Hello- David Hervey here. I am a painter and musician from Wilmington, NC. I grew up at the beach and have enjoyed art and music since a young age. I started my painting career shortly after graduating from ECU in the spring of 1997. My main media interests are in acrylic painting as well as mask and puppet making. I woke up this morning and glitter was on my mind so I remembered that Twinkle Twinkle Little Car was sent in by Nicole Strine some time ago and decided it was time to put her up on Art Car Central. This Honda Civic, I think, and is covered in thousands of cut up CD's donated by a few software companies in Texas. Nicole and her Husband spent about 6 years working on the car and unfortunately this beauty is not longer with us. After it was vandalized they scraped all the CD's off the car and some time later was broadsided at an intersection.
